Crown Resorts has announced the official opening date for its Sydney casino’s gaming floor. From 8 August 2022, players will be able to enjoy the wide variety of gaming options available.
The gaming floor has been named the Crystal Room and will be opened to the public thanks to approval from the New South Wales Liquor & Gaming Authority. More gaming variety is in the pipeline as the venue has an additional floor scheduled for launch at a later date. The second space, named Mahogany, will include 160 gaming tables and 70 electronic table games.
The gaming areas of the $2.2bn resort were meant to open in December 2020, but legislative delays prevented their introduction.
Outgoing Crown Resorts CEO Steve McCann commented,
“The opening of our gaming operations at Crown Sydney is a defining moment for Crown and the culmination of months of hard work from our dedicated team. The entire team at Crown Sydney has been preparing for this moment for a long time, and we felt the symbolism of the 08.08 date represented ideal timing to open our doors.”
The operator issued a further statement that read,
“We are committed to delivering a safe and responsible gaming environment for all, and Crown Sydney’s restricted gaming facility has been designed with the highest levels of governance and compliance. It is the only casino of its kind in Australia, with all patrons required to be a member or guest of a member and undergo comprehensive checks.”
